afPE Annual Conference

The Association for Physical Education (afPE) Annual Conference took place in Heythrop Park on the 6^th-8^th July 2011.

On Thursday 7^th July Andy Frapwell (afTLC) and Kevin Barton (QCDA) addressed the afPE Annual Conference in a mini key note presentation on Assessment: Where next?  The address explored poor, unreliable and invalid methods of assessment largely centred on the misuse of levels and shared QCDA Assessment Exemplification materials.  Methods of Assessing Pupils’ Progress were referenced, but it was stressed that further in depth engagement was required to fully explore the nuances of effective assessment processes that do not take up all of a teacher’s spare time.
